Our bespoke Harmony range of play mats has been in production since the middle of last year. We deliberated on the range of colours for quite some time and decided to go for Pantone's colour of the year for 2020, Classic Blue and what we termed an “uplifting Scandi yellow" for the other.
After much back and forth with our production company in Taiwan and trying
to approve colours on screen over Zoom, we were finally happy with the choices and gave the go ahead on production towards the end of October.
Needless to say, we were blown away towards the end of 2020 when the Pantone Colour Institute announced that its colour of the year for 2021 was going to be an unprecedented double bill - Ultimate Grey and... Illuminating Yellow - how amazing!
So not only did we decide on 2020s colour of the year but also one half of this year's! And luckily, because in our opinion grey will always be on trend - varying hues of Ultimate Grey can be found in our Marble Daze and Vintage Pebble play mats.
Pantones colour of the year is a big deal in setting trends, inspiring decorators, clothing designers and the creators of beauty products.
The Pantone Colour Institute carries out research to determine how colour influences our emotions and our physical reaction to it. The colour of the year is based on the trends, mood and events occuring at the time.
The union of this year's two colours represents strength and positivity, much like the colours selected for our Harmony play mats.
So ya, we're so on trend babes.
